Bulk Reassessments

3:18 Bulk Actions

0:00 In this video, I'm going to show you how to use the bulk reassessment functionality within
0:05 Assets Accountant. For the purposes of this demonstration, I'm going to assume that there's
0:09 been a nice new upgrade from Apple and all of our iPhones have now had their useful life
0:15 extended by another two years. The date of the reassessment we will make the 1st of January
0:22 2023. So the first thing I need to do is to create my template for the bulk reassessment
0:30 and I can do that by filtering by asset group and choosing mobile phones. Then from here
0:37 I can export the bulk reassessment template. You can see there. So that's now created the
0:44 CSV file for the bulk reassessment template. So I've got that one open up in my online
0:51 spreadsheet here. Here you can see the assets and the codes have appeared. So I'm now going
0:55 to choose the method. So let's say we want those to be prime cost and they've all had
1:01 two more years put on their useful life and there's no residual value. And let's just
1:07 put in there. This is a note. So I'll make that the same for all of these phones, but
1:12 obviously these can be different for each asset as you go. So let's say I'm now happy
1:17 with that. I can download that as an Excel file to my desktop. Obviously, if I'm using
1:24 Excel, I'll just work in Excel for that one. Then I go into bulk actions and I'm going
1:30 to do a new upload for my bulk reassessment. I'll choose the file. So that is the second
1:39 one I just created here. So I will open that one and then I can upload that. What I get
1:45 now is a wizard that will walk me through the information upload. So which row is the
1:50 header row for the data? So we can see in the spreadsheet, there's a title row. Then
1:54 we've got the header row for the data. So I'm going to select that one. Then I move
1:57 on to next and I've got the asset code in the spreadsheet. So I'm going to choose asset
2:02 code and move on to next. And I'm just going to make this reassessment for accounts. So
2:07 I'm going to move on to the next. And then the reassessment date we said was the 1st
2:10 of January, 2023. And I've put the life as the remaining life from the reassessment
2:18 date. Alternatively, I can put the end date if I know the end, the date of the end of
2:23 the useful life. So I'll do that and then it will just match these for me. If it hasn't
2:28 matched these already, you can choose the columns yourself. So there, but it's done
2:34 these one and then the method I'm going to choose prime cost. So asset code method remaining
2:39 life in two years, residual value is nothing in there and the notes. So we'll do that
2:44 and go forward. And I just choose that prime cost is going to map to the prime cost method
2:49 of accounts. It's going to let me bulk revalue those six assets so I can process those. All
2:53 of those assets have successfully updated. Then I go into the assets and I can see now
2:59 if I go into my mobile phones in here, you can see that. Let me just go into the tech
3:05 because I only see the accounts. You can see here now that there's been a reassessment
3:10 on the 1st of January and the phones have had their useful life extended by another
3:16 two years.
