0:38 email.
0:40 Just click on Verify Email.
0:42 Once you've input some basic details, you'll be prompted to either go to your demo register
0:46 where you can explore the functions of Asset Accountant, or you can create your own asset
0:50 register.
0:51 So let's do that.
0:54 So in this case, all of my details have been pre-filled.
0:58 I've been offered the opportunity to create a demo register in the USA.
1:01 I'm going to call it a corporation, give it the U.S. dollar currency, a 31st of December
1:08 year end, and I'm going to follow typical U.S. GAAP accounting standards.
1:13 After clicking Next, I'll be offered the opportunity to create a subscription plan.
1:18 I'm going to choose to try Asset Accountant for free.
1:22 Once you've created your register, you'll be offered the opportunity to start adding
1:25 assets, but let's explore the settings first.
1:28 There are two levels of settings, organization settings and register settings.
1:32 We'll look at register settings first.
1:36 The first thing that we see is our general settings, which summarize the details about
1:41 our register and the entity that it belongs to, the country or jurisdiction of operation,
1:48 the currency, the reporting year, and the accounting standard that we're using.
1:52 Down the bottom of the page, we also have the opportunity to auto-number our assets.
1:56 So for example, if we wanted all of our assets to have the prefix F-A hyphen with five decimal
2:02 places for each of our assets, we can do that here.
2:06 Next we have our Users tab, and this is where we can invite other users to our account.
2:11 Asset Accountant has no limit on the number of users that can be added to a system.
2:15 There are no additional charges for additional users, so we encourage you to invite as many
2:19 as you see fit.
2:21 When you do invite a user, aside from entering their email, you'll be asked to nominate the
2:26 role that that user should have in this register.
2:30 Here's a graphic that we prepared outlining the roles within Asset Accountant.
2:37 Next we have our classifications.
2:40 Classifications are things like profit centers, locations, or any other dimension you want
2:45 to apply to your system to help you apportion your data, and these classifications can apply
2:50 to journals.
2:52 So for example, if we wanted to create a location classification, we might add Los Angeles, Memphis,
3:02 and Augusta, depending on where your operations are, and again, those locations can now be
3:08 used to apply to each of your assets and to split up your journals accordingly.
3:14 Next we have our integrations tab.
3:15 Again, if you happen to be a QuickBooks or a Xero user, this is an easy way to set up
3:20 your integrations to the company files that you have in those systems.
3:25 You can also integrate with Sage Intact and Microsoft Dynamics, and there are more and
3:30 more ERPs and general ledger integrations coming online as we go along.
3:36 Finally, let's have a quick look at our organization settings.
3:41 Next we have our general settings tab, which again allows us to nominate the name and the
3:45 description of our organization and our billing contact details.
3:50 Every organization can have as many registers as they like, so it's possible to have a single
3:54 subscription with tens or thousands of registers sitting underneath that one subscription.
4:01 In our subscription and payment tab, we can see that we're still on our free subscription.
4:05 We can upgrade that at any time, although just keep in mind that you don't need to do
4:09 that until you go past ten assets, and we can also add our credit card details so that
4:14 we can facilitate monthly payments.
4:17 And finally, we have our organization users tab.
4:20 So if you have a very large organization with hundreds or thousands of users, it's useful
4:25 to be able to categorize those users at an organization level and manage their access
4:30 to registers from your organization settings page.
4:34 Again, you can invite users from here, and you can set appropriate permissions as we
4:39 described earlier.
4:42 Finally, we're going to return to our register, go to our add assets page, and from here you
4:49 can easily start adding assets to your system, which is a subject that we'll explore in the
4:53 coming videos.
